In this story board we have shown the types of camera shots we will be usuing and how we will use the cameras to do this, the story board shows you a visualisaition of how it would look like after we film the scences. This will help me out as a group becuase we have planned it out and by looking at the story board it will make me do the scnes in order and i wont be able to forget any of them.

TREATMENT
The 2 minute beginning scene starts off with girls playing hide and seek outside their house, with the sound being very slow and loving, the idea of this type of sound track came from the film ‘The Lovely Bones’ . This could foreshadow something happening later on in the scene, in the film The Lovely Bones the type of edit that they have used is like a dream or fantasy, so I am going to be using that type of idea, also they use a type of sound for the people that are talking in that scene, it’s like an echo. A girl then hides behind a car trying to hide from her friends, she looks at the car window/mirror and she sees a reflection of a person dressed in all black, I got this type of idea from the film ‘Friday The 13th’. Whilst she sees this reflection the sound becomes very worrying and shocking, I also got this idea from the film ‘Halloween’. When she turns around the person dressed in black has dispersed and she just avoids talking about it or telling someone what she saw. Then it fades out to a title and fades back to another scene, I got this idea from the film ‘Mr & Mrs Smith’. I am going to be using it to create a sense of the setting and time changing. Once it changes from the first scene, another scene appears after the title, which is a shopping centre where the girl is with her friends and from a far distance she sees the same figure again and she looks down and looks back up quickly and it’s not there anymore, the same shocking sound comes back on. Then it goes to another title and then another scene where she is in her room and she opens her cupboard and from a small mirror she sees the reflection of the figure again behind her but just before she turns around the person grabs her buy the neck and just before she can scream she falls to the ground and then from another room just beneath her room it will show a close up of the chandler shaking and her sister runs up stares to see her and when she sees her she screams and looks right outside and she sees the figure from a far distance and this will show us that she is the next victim.
This scene that I first created did not work out because the characters that where suppose to be in the film stopped turning up and situations broke through so we did not have a choice so we had to change the whole story and because we did not have enough time we had to stay in one location. We still put in some of the same camera angles as we were going to in our first film and tried to use at least some techniques to make the scenes look more professional, but with the cancelation of the actors we had a lot of problems trying to figure out something quick and easy so we can finish it on time.

ANALYSIS OF MY OPENING SEQUENCES
Key features of an Opening Sequence:
The problem of the opening sequence is a showing of what had happened in the previous time, then goes to a big group of teenage gangsters in a party/'rave ‘and then a problem occurs straight away which includes a gun. This will foreshadow what will happen later on in the film, it will include guns and murder.
The key characters is the black girl in the beginning, then goes to the party where a white girl walks up to her boyfriend, we as the audience see that they are the main characters in the film because they are shown first. We see who the good and bad people are in the opening.
The first setting is outside someone’s house party, where the first killing had been done and the second scene is at another party 6 years later, then the shooting begins.
The unique selling point of this will be in a few British cinemas, its mostly targeted at the teenagers and young adults that may have been through the same thing or living like this at present.
The genre of this film is a drama.
The camera work of this film is very fast paste so it can go with the situation, and also it cuts into different things in the same place and time to show what’s happening. The sound track that is used in this beginning scene is like a heart beat that starts of slow and then becomes faster and then loud sound at the party begins.
The opening sequence of ‘Mr and Mrs Smith’ starts of very simple, they are both sitting down on chairs in a room and talking to someone about how their marriage is not working out. The first name that comes on in the beginning is the executive producers of the film which is ‘Regency Enterprises’ which is 33 seconds in. The second is 55 seconds in which says ‘A New Regency Production’. 1.33 minutes in it says a ‘Summit Entertainment Production’. 1.33 minutes in it says ‘A Weed Road Pictures Production’ and then finally it says the title which is Mr and Mrs Smith. The first beginning of the film foreshadows that there will be problems between both the couples because they need a marriage guidance counselling. In between every title there’s a small scene of the film, I believe that this is a good way to start of the opening scene so I am considering using it.
This video that I and Foyez created was a very good practice for the actual film we are planning to make. To make this short clip we used Final Cut Pro to create the clip and put them together, by doing this I have learnt how to edit films and also I now know how to use the types of edits for the film for example how to use the arrow cutter or how to fade in and out of the scenes and how to put in texts. This task was a good experience for us because I gained more skills and confidence in making the actual film. I now understand how to create a film and by this I no how to use a camera, for example I learnt that you cannot cross the 180 degree rule. With this experience it made me gain a understanding of how to cut the scenes and put them together to make it look good and realistic like an actual film.

RESEARCH & PLANNING
My Research of codes and conventions of horror films:
Example of Horror films are:
'Psycho'- Psychological
'The Exorcist'- Religious
'Wolf Creek'- True Story
'Texas ChainSaw Massacre'- Gore
-Horror films are very worrying and disturbing films that are intended to scare and panic audiences, cause dread and alarm, invoke audience’s hidden fears.
-The fears in life are created in the films:
For example nightmares, alienation, fear of death, loss of identity and fear of sexuality etc.
-With the characters in most horror films the killer always has some sort of trade mark and it's always good against evil.
-The atmosphere is typically sinister and location often appears dark and isolated.
-Antagonist has a pattern in the way work or kill.
-They don’t always use well known actors, because they want to make the audience feel uncomfortable and creates a sense of it being real.
Shot list:
-High angle shot of them playing outside
-Mid shot of her behind the car (high angle)
-Medium close up of her seeing the reflection through the mirror/ window
-Mid shot of her turning round (high angel)
-Two shot of her friend finding her
-Close up of her smiling (eye level)
-Picture of title
-Wide shot of her in the shopping centre
-Two shots of her and her friends laughing (eye level)
-Very wide shot of the image of her looking ahead with the figure standing there
-Extreme close up of her eyes looking at the figure
-Very wide shot of the same position but without the figure being there
-Picture of title
-Mid shot of her walking towards her cupboard and opening it
-Over the shoulder shot of her looking into the small mirror (eye level)
-Two shot of it grabbing her neck (eye level)

-Mid shot of sister opening the door (low angle)
-Wide shot of her sister on the floor and she screams
-Close up shot of the dead girl (camera slanted)
-Point of view shot of the figure standing outside from a far distance
-picture of the title name
Shot list of our new 2 minute scene:
-wide shot of her laying on the bed doing her nails
-tittle comes on
-wide shot of her picking her phone up and talking on the phone
-mediam close up of her on the phone to show her facial expressions more clearly

-she gets out her room and sees the person dressed in all black
-point of veiw shot of the figure moving about in slow motion
-tittle comes on
Evidence of researching story ideas:
Me and Foyez searched up different types of horror films and watched the beginning scenes so that it can give us a sense of what we should do for our sequence as well.
The films that we watched together where Halloween, The lovely bones, Friday the thirteenth, saw 7 and Final destination 5.
We got an idea of using a mask for our sequence which is from ‘Halloween’ and ‘Friday the thirteenth’, also the use of the voices echoing in the begging of the sequence we are planning to use is from the film ‘The lovely bones’. ’ Final destination 5’ gave us an idea of how all the friends and family are going to die one by one. And finally ‘Saw 7’ gave us an idea of using blood in our sequence to make the audience feel sympathy and frightened as it is a horror movie that we are creating.
In the new film we had to create we got ideas from 'Paranormal Activity 3'
We decided to use the 'bloody Mary' scene and just change it a bit to make it terrifying and startling. Because of the time limit we could not think of more and better ideas, if we did we would have set the scenes in a few different locations and not just one to make it look better and also spend more time on it to make it close to being perfect.
Production Meeting:
The first thing that I am going to make is the costume for the villain which is going to be dressed in a black cloak. We will then both use our own camera to try and film out the sequence and see if we can create a realistic atmosphere until we get the actual camera, it will be a practice preparation for us. We will then make sure that our three settings are appropriate and good to create the scene in which is outside on the road, in a shopping centre and also in a bed room.
After changing the film we did not have another production meeting so we just had to make something with the old meeting and try and do something different. With our old settings it was the shopping centre, outside the house and in the room, we had already done the room so we just used that one setting to the scene in.
Equipment list:
